Sheen Girls school also went on a trip but I think in 1963 we went from Tilbury to Maderia Casablanca then on to Lisbon, we were delayed on the way back as rather rough in Bay of Biscay.
On the trip were schools from Tottenham and St Pauls boys school Hammersmith.
What a lovely trip and returned to Southampton. We all slept in bunk beds, and there was a coffee bar with a Juke box and Dave Clark Five I’m sure we all enjoyed not sure how much school work got done.
We were helped by Indian men if the boat rocked when we got our food, and a matron came round at night to make sure we were behaving ourselves.
Name and Email Supplied – anyone else out there on this trip??
