For ALL fans of the music of Phil Collins!
After 13 months of planning and rehearsals the day finally arrived for our opening night at the Tivoli Theatre, in Wimborne, Dorset. Being the home of the show for the past 8 years, the Tivoli served as a fitting venue for the Re-launch Tour’s 1st public outing!
We all arrived at 2pm to be greeted by the Technical Crew, who were so excited to see us back on the road. They really are top people, every one of them.

The first load in and set up is always a “biggy” for Tim Harper, but this time he was supported by, not only Talon’s Lighting man, Paul Gilbert, but also Chris and Anni Lloyd who were on hand to help set the stage.
Eleven musicians to cater for, drum risers, lighting rigs and backdrops to set along with the usual PA work, which is no small task on its own! Mikey Hallett (our “Soundie”), as ever Mr Cool, calmly and collectedly proceeded to get us ready for sound checking on time. Where would we be without him? Our own new “Techy”, Richard Chevalier, joined us for the first time, getting involved right from the outset and from the look of things enjoying every minute!
New technology is in use this year with the Horns and Backing Vocalists on radio mic’s. This, along with the addition of Percussion and new band members added to the pressure of finishing our final checks by 6pm. Which we did by the skin of our teeth, just one hour before our sell out audience would start arriving.
The time to stand nervously in the wings rapidly arrived and the atmosphere back-stage was electric, a mixture of nerves and excitement, but knowing we had a first class show helped us go out there and perform to over 470 people.
As the lights went down and the intro music started you could feel the anticipation from the audience and, as we stepped out to our positions, the applause started and we knew what we had to do.
The huge sound from the opening bars of ‘Behind The Lines’ made its mark and one song after another our audience lapped up each of Phil’s songs with overwhelming appreciation and excitement.
Our new Front Man Chris shouted ‘Good evening Wimborne’ after the 3rd song and the call back was so loud from the folks out front it was amazing for us to hear on stage. So many new faces out there too, as well as our faithful followers from over the years.
The time passed so quickly for all of us on stage and before we knew it the 1st Act was over and a retreat back stage for refreshment and changes was most welcome.
The second Act opened with our triple drum solo feature, the first time we had tried it out, but it worked really well. Emily was a star and I think she really enjoyed it by the look on her face!!
And so the set continued with all of the up-beat Phil favourites and before we realised, it was the end of the show. A full standing ovation and such loud cheering was confirmation that And Finally…Phil Collins are back, bigger and better than ever!
The show has moved on and with full approval from our loving audience, we thank you all for your continued support!
The usual meet and greet in the Foyer was a packed affair with plenty of activity on the Merchandise table too, so good to meet so many familiar faces with such positive feedback for our new show.
Stripping down of the gear and loading of the vans was done in record time, as we had an after show curry arranged at The Wimborne Tandoori, a great way for us to unwind and celebrate, A fantastic atmosphere and great food brought the evening to a wonderful conclusion.
Sunday was a reflection day, after so much hard work for over a year. But no rest, Facebook posts were going viral and so many great comments from our ‘And Finally Friends’.
