I was on this Casablanca trip from Glasgow. I remember Casablanca, Lisbon, Grenada and Vigo plus the horrendous crossing of the Bay of Biscay.
Couldn’t take to the food or keep it down and lost 15 lb in weight in two weeks! Other highlights included the myriad of mandolyn-type souvenirs made out of tortoise shells and bought in Casablanca.
They started to smell in the heat and most were thrown overboard on the Bay of Biscay. Aged 12 I and some friends got a guide tour of Lisbon by a Portuguese boy of a similar age. (so much for the days of lost innocence. It would never be allowed now!).
I’ll keep posting as memories return. Am now based in Wiltshire. Would be good to hear of more stories for comparison.
