  1. I think I have found your man! I have looked at the Dunera Rolls and checked the National Archives of Australia…

    Alexander Schnabl, Date of birth – 23 November 1923; Nationality – Austrian Born Ganz.

    Some records show the name as Schnabel.

    The NAA references for his records are as follows:

    He appears to have returned to the UK on the Stirling Castle (along with my l late Father Kurt Morgenroth) leaving Australia in November 1941 and may well have joined the Pioneer Corps on his return.
